New Law Regarding Social Security Number Searches
FCRA - Fair Credit Reporting Act

Effective July, 2001:
Investigative agencies can no longer release to the client a social security number obtained in an investigation.

That means:
We'll obtain a social security number for your subject to help us with your investigation but the social security number cannot be released to you. The social security number will be kept on file pending your completed investigation.
Your account will be charged the $45.00 rate once we locate the social security number.

Exceptions:

  • You're a licensed Private Investigator and we have your license on file along with the FCRA - Fair Credit Reporting Act statement of release.

  • Private citizens must have a Court Order giving us express permission to release the social security number.

  • There are no other exceptions.

Please Note:
Protesting and pleading for us to give you the social won't help. This law protects privacy.
